About

Our work together

You are the expert on your life. In my clinical work I use warmth, humor, and genuine curiosity to develop strong relationships. I combine my training as a psychodynamic and transpersonal therapist with evidence-based practices, to help you not only gain insight into your life, but also to devise actionable plans to make positive changes. Therapy can be about life’s struggles, but it’s also about identifying strengths and learning how to use them in new ways. Together we will create a collaborative path to heal old wounds, develop coping skills, and find purposeful engagement in life. I actively use my exceptional memory to recall what you have told me, to provide attuned reflection, and as an artist, I will use my intuition to help you explore different perspectives. I am the sous-chef to help you see what you have, gain what you need, and conceive something beautiful.

About me

Hi, I’m Jolee del Mazo and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

The road to becoming a therapist was a long and winding path that included studying Resistance and Social Movements at UC Santa Cruz before gaining a Masters in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. As part of my training, I worked at a medication-assisted opiate treatment facility in East Oakland, and with children and families in the foster care system.

I believe therapy is an opportunity for social justice, and I am committed to providing a space which recognizes both larger systems of oppression, and how they are internalized in the psyche. As a queer femme from a small, working class, rural town, I know firsthand the importance of where we come from in shaping our lives, as well as the need to be seen in the entirety of both our personal story and greater social context.
